Subheader: What started last year as a "project 365", one photo a day for a year, became an ongoing interest to document the little moments that otherwise, might pass us all by.

When Pippi Longstocking Grew Up…

Current Painting

This one has squares of tissue and newspaper on the bottom and leaves on the top; all will get painted. I’m really having fun with this texture stuff. This composition is from another dream. The photo quality is not good; you can’t see the text or the layers or even the vibrancy of the colors. But I’ll try for better light when this one’s done.

The Dream of The Leaving

It’s finished. Or, at the least, to the point where I can only see what is wrong with it and must leave it alone for awhile to ruminate on any changes. The composition was from a dream I had a year ago, the style from two different Klimt pictures. This was the first time I glued anything to my canvas; under those trees are layers and layers of tissue paper sealed with Vinyl Sealer. Smelly stuff. It is not a self-portrait per se….not intended to look like me but has elements in it nonetheless as it came from my own subconscious mind. It is also the first in what has become a progressive series of dreams, painted over the last 6 months, with similarities I am pondering. To me, this painting is vulnerable and determined at the same time, with darkness and light both.

For days, I’ve taken pictures of this little man….

Because when a newborn is THIS pretty and alert all the stinkin’ time, how could anyone resist?

When the pregnant sister wants a pie, she gets one.
